The attack happened on Pages Rd, between Portchester and Farnborough streets, at the entrance to Bexley Reserve, about 6.20am on Monday. Do you know more? Officers are stationed at various entrances to the park, while police cars are patrolling streets in and around the area. As Pages Rd is relatively busy, police have suggested someone may have witnessed the assault or captured it on their car’s dashcam. Anyone who saw the incident or has information that may assist the investigation has been asked to call 111.KAI SCHWOERER/StuffOfficers have been stationed at various entrances to Bexley reserve as they search for the offender continues. Residents who live in the area told Stuff they knew nothing of what had happened, but were anxious that the offender had not been caught. Katie, who didn’t want her last name used, lives just 50 metres from Bexley Park’s playground, said “it’s not a very good feeling”. She said she’s also “anxious” to let her daughter go to the park generally. “You just can’t trust anything these days… I’m so wary.”KAI SCHWOERER/StuffAnxious residents have said they’ll be on alert until police have arrested the alleged offender. A nearby resident, Victoria Langley, said she has home cameras installed and will be keeping a close eye on them whilst the offender is loose. “If I’m home, I’ll lock up the house and will be watching my cameras.” Langley has two grandchildren who live with her, and she said today’s event makes her “nervous because of the kids”.
